The Commercial Director of Spreadshirt Marketplaces oversees the strategy, success and leadership of the Spreadshirt Marketplace and ensures that it achieves its commercial goals. The Spreadshirt Marketplace is one of Spreadshirt’s core points of sale and it generates the largest amount of visits and visitors in the Spread Group brands. In this role, you will report directly to the Spread Group Chief Commercial Officer.

The Spreadshirt brand is divided into several core points of sale:

Personalization - where customers design their own products

Merchandising commonly known as Spreadshop - where merchandisers create, sell, and market the products themselves

Marketplaces – where artists and designers submit their artwork to be sold on Spreadshirt site and external marketplaces

As the Director of Marketplaces, you will be directly responsible for our internal and external marketplaces. In this unique role you'll lead both the customer facing side of the business and work with our network of designers that sell designs via Spreadshirt. You'll also work closely with commercial directors that are responsible for other points of sale within Spread Group.

Your Responsibilities

Responsible for the P&L and the financial performance of the Spreadshirt Marketplace
Grow, nurture and care for all aspects of the Spreadshirt Marketplace
Align goals to Spreadshirt’s commercial strategy
Develop the vision, goals, and roadmap for the Marketplace together with Chief Commercial Officer
Research and address customer needs, problems, and blockers
Lead a diverse team to success and act as a role model in every dimension
Work closely with other Commercial Directors as well as responsible departments to implement the strategies and plans (assortment, product, marketing)

Your Profile

At least 6+ years of proven experience in e-commerce or related business areas, minimum 3 years in a leadership role
Experienced with customer acquisition and retention (email marketing, paid search, paid acquisition organic search, CRM)
Significant experience in utilizing SEO for acquisition, especially long tail SEO
Good financial and analytic understanding, as well as very good MS Excel skills
Demonstration of constructive leadership and excellent communication skills proven in previous jobs
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Fluent in English (both written and spoken); German is a plus
International cultural experience and willingness to travel when needed
